FINABLOMOR

Site-specific artwork
Pedestrian and bicycle tunnel in Tröingedal, Falkenberg, Sweden
Commissioned by Falkenberg municipality
Completed 2025

In early 2025, the Municipality of Falkenberg invited three artists to submit proposals for a permanent art installation for a new pedestrian and bicycle tunnel in Tröingedal, Falkenberg. One of the stated requirements was to involve children from the area in the creative process. My proposal, FINABLOMOR, was selected for implementation.

FINABLOMOR is inspired by and shaped through children’s interpretations of the vegetation around them. The drawings were created during a workshop with children from Tröingedal and were subsequently developed into large-scale aluminium sculptures. The installation consists of individually designed flower and plant forms that bring together the children’s perspectives with the site’s natural character.

The sculptures are placed along both sides of the tunnel, contributing to a stronger spatial identity and improved orientation. The colour scheme is derived from the blue ink used during the children’s sketching process. This blue hue serves as a clear visual reference to the participatory process.
