Stora Södermalmshallen is a brick building constructed in 1962, characterized by its modernist architectural language, where large window sections meet a brick façade.
In connection with the renovation and extension of the building, the Municipality of Kristinehamn announced an Open Call for an artistic commission. My proposal CIRCLE was selected for realization.

CIRCLE is a site-specific artwork that symbolizes joy, friendship, community, physical activity, play, and enjoyment. The work highlights the importance of bodily movement and the pleasure of sharing time with others. The installation consists of five figures engaged in activities such as badminton, gymnastics, and ball sports, activities commonly practiced in a sports hall.
A large, colourful light circle forms a central element of the work, reinforcing the themes of movement, energy, and togetherness.
