The City

commissioned by the National Public Art Council Sweden, completed April 2007

The aim with The City was to depict the melodies of a city in a tale of light. The installation covers an area of 40m2. 450 light dots are spread out over the wall in the form of an imaginary city. The brightness, colour and tempo of the lights are controlled by a very detailed programme. Light changes are slightly perceptible with few moments of swifter changes. The white light dominates. This work permits of approaches but offers few definite clues, so it can present different images according to the way one chooses to read it, as figurative, abstract or concrete.

It is possible to experience The City every working day from 8am - 7pm in the County Administrative Court, Tegeluddsvägen 1 in Stockholm.
